How THE BECOMING approaches accuracy, sources, images and corrections.Editorial Policy
THE BECOMING is an independent editorial and creative media platform. Its editorial work explores people, ideas, culture, business and transformation.
Accuracy
We seek to publish information supported by identifiable and credible sources. Dates, names, quotations, statistics and historical claims should be checked against primary or authoritative sources whenever reasonably available.
Sources
We distinguish between primary sources, institutional publications, direct testimony, archival material and secondary analysis. A source link does not imply endorsement of every statement made by that source.
Original reporting and analysis
THE BECOMING distinguishes verified facts from analysis, interpretation and opinion. Uncertainty should remain visible when the available evidence is incomplete.
Images and media
Photographs and other media must be identified as original work, documentary photography, archival material, licensed third-party content or editorial illustration. Illustrative photographs must not be presented as documentary evidence of an event they do not depict.
Credits and rights
Third-party material remains the property of its respective rights holders. Applicable credits, source links, licences and restrictions must be preserved.
Accountability
Readers and rights holders may report factual, attribution or rights-related concerns to TheBecomingLine@gmail.com.
Corrections Policy
THE BECOMING reviews credible reports of factual, contextual, attribution and rights-related errors.
A correction request should identify the publication, the information believed to be inaccurate and any supporting evidence. Requests may be sent to TheBecomingLine@gmail.com.
Material factual corrections will be made after verification. When a correction materially changes the meaning of a publication, a dated correction note will be added to the article.
Minor spelling, punctuation, formatting or accessibility corrections that do not change the meaning may be made without a separate correction note.
Updated information will not be described as a correction unless the earlier publication was inaccurate at the time it appeared.
Articles will not be removed merely because their subject disagrees with accurate reporting. Removal or restriction may be considered when required by law, safety, privacy, rights obligations or a serious failure of verification.
THE BECOMING will not silently alter quotations, documentary photographs or historical records in a way that changes their meaning.
